Internship Preparation

PRIME provides career coaching to UCSB engineering, science and math (STEM) students through in-class training and access to networks of professionals in the STEM field. Participation is by application only: please read below on eligibility requirements, and the online application process. Successful PRIME applications commit to enrolling in the class, and will be invited to join PRIME networking events. Students will also be paired one-on-one with industry mentors.

Classroom Training

The cornerstone of PRIME is a 2-unit course offered in the Fall, and designed with input from industry collaborators. The class is offered in collaboration with the TMP program, and aims at equipping sophomore/junior/senior students with the necessary knowledge, professional skills and networks to enhance their internship and career prospects. Topics covered include learning about internships and resources for finding them; defining translational skills and personal strengths; interview and communication skills; and drafting an individualized development plan to help guide your career.
